Here are some movements of shaolin Damo sword.
Section 1
Shaolin Damo Sword Ready Form:
Gist: Sanding with feet side by side, left hand holding the sword naturally down at left side of the body, right hand fingers naturally down at right body side, chest out and head rise. Eyes front .
1. Relaxing Stance with Sword on Back:
Gist: Left hand holding the sword and drawing arc bottom-up, swinging the sword to the back of waist, left foot standing still, right foot crossing back step, knees bent into relaxing stance, right palm shifting into vertical position in front of the chest. Eyes front (Picture 2).
Correcting Method: Relaxing stance with the right knee not touching down, supporting by right sole.
2. Bow Stance with Sword on Back
Gist: Left hand holding the sword and lifting it up to the level of shoulder, right palm shifting into sword-finger form and arm extended to shoulder height, right knee lifted, right foot moving upward into bow stance, left hand holding the sword to rear side, right hand fingers moving to the front of right side chest, eyes front
Correcting Method: Right knee bent into high bow stance, left leg extended, tiptoe bent inward.
3. Knee Lifted and Holding Sword
Gist: Right hand receiving the sword in front of the chest, right sword fingers withdrew in front of stomach, left foot still, right foot kicking the ground and standing up knocked in front of left knee, looking at right front.
Correcting Method: Left knee bent 90กใ with foot extended when knocking leg.
4. Pricking Sword with Bow Stance
Gist: right foot landing, body turning left 90กใ, moving forward one step into bow stance, right hand receiving sword and horizontally pricking front down, left sword fingers held overhead, eyes front .
Correcting Method: Left knee bent, half standing, turning 90กใ, right leg extended, tiptoe bent inward,sole closing to the ground.
5. Pricking Sword with Bow Stance
Gist: Right leg moving forward with center of gravity moving forward, left sword fingers on waist back, right hand dancing sword horizontally and left foot moving forward into a bow stance, right hand holding the sword and horizontally pricking forward, left sword fingers pointing head top, eyes front (Picture 6).
Correcting Method: Left knee bent, half standing, right leg extended, tiptoe bent inward, sole closing to the ground.
